The Save This Time-Distance Diagram command in the Time-Distance Window lets you save the time-distance diagram to the diagrams buffer in random access memory. When you exit the program, the diagrams buffer will be saved to a PTD file.
TO SAVE THE TIME-DISTANCE DIAGRAM:
1. Select the Misc | Save This Time-Distance Diagram command.
A dialog box will appear asking you details on saving the current time-distance diagram.
If only the last two radio buttons are visible, skip down to step 3.
2. Select where you want to save the time-distance diagram.
In order to save a diagram, there must be a file name associated with the diagrams buffer. This file name can be an existing PTD file or a new PTD file that you wish to create. Click on:
"Append" to append the diagram to the buffer.
"Replace" to replace the diagram of the same name in the buffer with the diagram being shown on the Time-Distance Window.
"Append to another PTD file" to fill the buffer with the contents of another PTD file and append this diagram to the buffer.
"Save to a new PTD file" to create a new PTD file. The buffer is emptied and then this diagram is copied to the buffer.
If you click on an option other than “Replace”, a dialog box will appear asking you to name this time-distance diagram. The name can have up to 20 characters.
Enter the name you would like to assign to the current diagram in "Name" and press OK. The time-distance diagram will be copied to the buffer.
If you selected "Append to another PTD file" or "Save to a new PTD file", a file dialog box will appear.
Use the controls in the previous-time-distance file dialog box to enter the PTD file name. Press OK. The time-distance diagram will be saved to the PTD file you specified when you exit the program.
Skip remaining instructions.
3. If a PTD file has not been opened when the Save This Time-Distance Diagram command is executed, a dialog box with only two options will appear asking you how to save the current time-distance diagram.
Select where you would like to save the time-distance diagram. Click on:
"Append to a PTD file" to fill the buffer with the contents of an existing PTD file and copy this diagram to the end of the buffer.
"Save to a new PTD file" to create a new PTD file. The buffer is emptied and this diagram is copied to the buffer.
A time-distance diagram file dialog box will appear.
Use the controls in the previous-time-distance-diagram file dialog box to enter the PTD file name. Press OK.
The diagram will be saved to the PTD file when you exit the program. A dialog box will appear asking you to name this diagram. The name can have up to 20 characters.
Enter the name you would like to assign to the current diagram in "Name" and press OK.
The time-distance diagram will be appended to the diagrams buffer.
