Q:   What models are available in OneLiner to represent IBR?

A:   As of 2024, the IBR models in OneLiner are functional models for grid-following devices.  The internal components, topology, and control systems comprising specific generator plants vary by manufacturer and installation, and these are often proprietary.

Since phasor domain models of the detailed device design and control are not currently available, the existing IBR models in OneLiner are functional models designed using the expected behavior of IBR required by grid codes in various fault-ride-through modes. These models aim to simulate the response of the devices if they meet the fault-ride-through requirements specified. It is important to check with specific generator vendors to understand the expected fault-ride-through behavior of an actual installation and to select a model that reasonably reflects that behavior.
