The Check | Network by Study Date command in the Main Window is designed to help you look for inconsistencies between the in/out-of-service status of network equipment and their in/out-of-service-dates. As an example, assume the study date is today, and consider an out-of-service transformer with an in-service date of “N/A” and an out-of-service date set to a day two weeks from now. The out-of-service status of the transformer clearly conflicts with the out-of-service because the future out-of-service date implies that the transformer should be in service before then. When you execute this command, the program will list all the consistencies in a text report in the TTY Window.
TO CHECK INCONSISTANCY BETWEEN EQUIPMENT STAUTUS & IN/OUT SERVICE DATES:
1. Select the Check | Network by Study Date command.
A dialog box will appear asking you to specify a study date. The default day is today if the file was not generated by the File | Save Copy for New Study Date command. Otherwise it is set to the file’s study date.
Enter a date and press OK.
For each network object that as a in-service or or a out-of-service date, the program compares the network’s status (active or out-of-service) against the status determined by the following logic:
• If the object has an in-service date and no out-of-service date, then the object should be
o active if the study date is after the in-service date and
o out-of-service otherwise.
• If the object has an out-of-service date and no in-service date, then the object should be
o active if the study date is on or before the out-of-service date and
o out-of-service otherwise.
• If the object has an in-service date followed by a later out-of-service date, then the object should be
o active if the study date is (1) after the in-service date and (2) the study date is on and before the out-of-service date
o out-of-service otherwise.
• If the object has an out-of-service date followed by a later in-service date, then the object should be
o active if the study date is on or before the out-of- service date
o active if the study date is after the in-service date
o out-of-service otherwise.
The TTY Window will appear with a report showing all the network objects whose in/out-of-service status is in conflict with the status based on the in/out-of-service dates.
