The Go to End Bus command in the Main Window helps you move quickly between the end buses of a transmission line or 2-winding transformer. Executing the command repeatedly will toggle between the two ends of a line or transformer.
TO GO TO THE END BUS OF A LINE OR TRANSFORMER:
1. Click the left mouse button on a line, a transformer, or a relay group to select it.
The relay group you select must be on a transmission line or 2-winding transformer. Otherwise this command will not work.
The selected symbol will turn dotted red when selected.
2. Select the View | Go To End Bus command.
If there is only one possible end bus, the program will automatically repaint the one-line diagram to bring the end bus to the center of the screen.
If you selected a line and there are one or more tap buses on that line, the program will pop up a dialog box to ask you to select either a tap bus or one of the possible line ends.
In the dialog box, the different paths through tap buses are shown in a tree form. In this example, the line selected was between CLAYTOR and NEVADA. The ‘[T]’ before the name NEVADA tells you that it is a tap bus. From NEVADA, the line can continue to BUS0, or to another tap bus called REUSENS. Through REUSENS, the line ends at ARIZONA.
On a separate tree branch, the line starts at CLAYTOR and ends on a neighboring bus OHIO.
As you click on any of the buses in the dialog box, the program will highlight that bus on the one-line diagram with a green arrow.
Click on a bus on the diagram and press OK. The dialog box will disappear. The selected bus will appear near the center of screen with a green arrow next to it. Note: See Section 8.9 for techniques for managing lines with multiple sections.
